AccuTherm Systems, Inc., a spin-out of Accumed Systems, Inc., was honored to have been among the top 10 finalists of the 2012 Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition. AccuTherm has developed an easy-to-use Thermal Sensing System to measure the temperature of atherosclerotic plaque in the coronary artery. Quantifying the temperature of these lesions will aid in determining the risk level of plaque progression or rupture. The Thermal Sensing System will offer the interventional cardiologist a diagnostic guidance tool in managing treatment decisions. AccuTherm is currently seeking funding to implement an FDA approved IDE clinical study, achieve a 510(k) and CE Mark.
